In summer 2009 I participated in the Oaxifornia study abroad program led by designer Raul Cabra in Oaxaca, Mexico. Oaxaca is an amazing center of craft tradition and I was fortunate enough to study with a local artisan working on the pedal loom. I was awed by his weaving skills and we collaborated to create new designs and new ways of working with materials of the loom.

The program culminated in a collaborative exhibition at La Casa de la Ciudad in Oaxaca City.

More information on the Oaxifornia program can be found here.
